I know that I should feel bad about these being 500 million year old pieces of rock salt being used for the sole purpose of gastronomic and aesthetic pleasure, but I kind of really want one.
You can use the chilled salt slabs to serve salt cured (right before your eyes) fish and meat, or heat it up and use it to sear food (like a more sophisticated version of stone grill). Or as a fruit/cheese board. Each giving your food a faint but extremely tasty hint of salt.
I console myself that these plates aren’t single use items and can be rinsed and stored for use another day.

le creuset 6 piece set (via ecaloshay)
Only $43 with my credit card reward points[1]!
[1] Yes, I did the calculations. Valuing reward points based on the number of points required to purchase a $200 David Jones voucher, it worked out much cheaper to use the points even with the extra money on top[2]. :P
[2] Incidentally, it’s more expensive to use all points to buy something rather than use a combination of points + pay.
