{006} My new Discworld: Ankh-Morpork board game.
Was actually getting a bit of buyer’s remorse about this, because I forked out for the Deluxe Edition which is considerably more expensive than the Collector’s Edition of the game.
On top of that, communication I had with the game company during pre-order process going back to last September was a little iffy.  Emails I sent were responded to with canned responses that didn’t address my questions, and it wasn’t clear whether progress/updates would be communicated directly on their site, or from the emails I registered for updates for.  Understandably they were busy, but I’m still irked when people send canned responses without checking that the canned response is actually relevant to the original email.  They apologised for that, but it still wasn’t a good first impression.
With the communication hiccups, I was actually tempted to just not bother buying the game.  I was afraid that the lack of attention to detail in their customer service would reflect the standard of the game itself.
The extra cost for the Deluxe Edition of the game is pretty much just for getting resin pieces instead of wooden ones.  The product description suggested that was the only difference[1].  While they are nice, I’m not sure it’s worth the price difference of the Collector’s Edition.  Not to mention the extra postage costs.
I haven’t had a chance to play it yet, just setting it up and getting my head around the rules.  The mechanics do look pretty interesting, and I definitely can see aspects of Munchkin and Catan in this.  But I’m looking forward to seeing how it plays.

Wine shots!

YOU SUNK MY LIVER

Why have I never heard of this before?!?!

Oh my God. This needs to be done. Possibly at work. With my skip level.

Don’t really drink much. But this really is genius.

Plants vs Zombies built into World of Warcraft! It’s in Hillsbrad at Brazie’s Farmstead.  If you complete the quest chain you get a little sunflower pet!
So. Much. Fun. Wish it was repeatable. :(

This reminded me of those Apple games Senseless Violence 1 & 2…  I miss my Apple IIGS…

Scurvy Jake’s Pirate Blog » Make Your Own 3D Settlers of Catan
Darrell has gotten us playing Settlers of Catan (and its expansions) an awful lot lately.  It’s a lot of fun, like RISK but simpler.  This 3D set of the board pieces looks like a great idea. Bit involved though. :P

Get a bunch of your iPhone toting friends to sync up to the game with a QR code and get rowing!
It’s a bit silly trying this out on your own, but I like the idea. :)

LittleBigPlanet : Little Big Computer (via upsilandre) (via @yongfook)

This guy created an 8-bit calculator using the custom level creator in Little Big Planet.

I heard about this guy when the game first came out, but never saw it.

Mind. Blown.
