Leica M9 Titanium
Yes, this is someone I randomly met on the street today, and yes, it is his daily shooter.
I’m not up-to-date with Leica (because it’s so completely outside my budget that I daren’t look for fear of falling in love) so I didn’t understand why this was so significant.
Found this Wired article.
It’s USD$29,000, the body and its Summilux-M 35mm ƒ1.4 aspherical lens is made of titanium, and:
[T]he Leica logo has been restyled and is elaborately hand-engraved in pure resin, inlaid with white enamel, sealed with clear varnish and then polished and positioned centrally – directly above the lens.
Jebus.

Kind of neat. Consumer level camera that is waterproof up to 3m deep for up to 60 minutes and can withstand temperatures down to -10C. Sounds like a great camera for the active and sporty types. :) And from the looks of it, it’s USD$399, which isn’t a bad price-point for a waterproof camera that also does HD video.

photojojo:
We REALLY hope this concept camera comes to be.
It’s a pinhole camera that shoots onto instant film and then opens up into a photo card that you can send to friends. Amazeballs.

Canon DSLR with a vintage Kodak lens fitted into a Pentax M42 lens housing.
I would really love to see what kind of photos result from that lens.

New toy arrived yesterday. And it took only 6 of the estimated 7-10 days.
I’ve taken a couple sample shots with the 18-70 and my Minolta 50 prime, but haven’t tried the longer 55-200 yet. So far I am loving my 50 prime with the 2x tele-converter.
Now to find a suitably inconspicuous camera bag or slim camera case + sizeable handbag that I can take with me travelling so that I don’t look like I’m packing gear.

Perhaps the ultimate spy camera, the Tessina was small enough that it could be worn on the wrist like a watch via a special strap.
Various other accessories were produced for this amazing little swiss camera, which takes standard 35mm film loaded into special cassettes. Uses a clockwork mechanism to advance the film and prime the shutter, special versions were made with nylon gears to make the camera almost silent in operation.
