If you are foolish enough to name your children “Adolf Hitler Campbell”, “JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell” and “Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell” and ask for a swastika to be drawn on a birthday cake by a commercial operation, then you deserve whatever negative reaction you get.
Yes the name Adolf is quite common in Germany, yes the swastika was a spiritual symbol long before it was inappropriately repurposed by Hitler, but if you know the stigma associated with names like the ones you have given your children, then why subject your children to that kind of abuse and ridicule?
It’s all well and good that you feel “it’s time for a change” but if you feel that strongly about it, then change your own name. Children have a hard enough time as it is without parents giving them horrendously ill-thought out names.
Other poor choices for names:
- Number 16 Bus Shelter (New Zealand, where the baby was born or was that conceived…)
- Moon Unit Zappa (Frank Zappa’s daughter)
- Q’Antity (USA?)
- The poor Geldof kids: Peaches, Fifi Trixabelle, Pixie and Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lilly
- Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii (New Zealand)
- Benson and Hedges (twins)
