This listing in the US is very odd. Perfect 50s home in St Louis. Never been lived in. The family only ever lived in the lower level. The oven in the kitchen has only been used 28 times, one turkey for each thanksgiving. Click here for more photos.
I wonder why anyone would just not live in the main level of the house.
Reading some of the comments, apparently the owners were immigrants and it was common practice not to live in the main area so that it was kept looking nice for guests. Interesting… If not slightly impractical. Or is it practical because you have less to maintain except for some light dusting and occasional washing of the curtains and linens…
