元樂年輪蛋糕·台北 (via zeping)
I was trying to work out how this cake was constructed.  The notes on the photo say the outside is cake, the white stuff is cream, those little semi circles are apple and the brown bit was 提拉米蘇.  If you are proficient at reading Chinese you probably know what this is already.  But I’m not that good yet.
So this was my thought process:
提 means carry or suspend… okay that brown stuff is suspended in the cream.
拉 is to pull.  Okay, suspend pull, must be related to the fact that brown stuff is floating there.
米 is rice. So it’s rice based…
蘇 is apparently a basil or perilla. That’s weird. What would you make with rice and basil… I must be missing something.
Google 米蘇… ‘mi su’… ‘rice su’… No, still don’t get it.
Google 提拉米蘇… Tiramisu… what?
*goes over pinyin again*
tí lā mǐ sū.
Mother f-!
I am never going to learn to try enunciating words before I go searching the hard way…
