I got a little worried about our bat friend.  He’s still in the exact same position as yesterday doesn’t appear to be inclined to move.  I can’t tell if it’s breathing, and winter being winter, I was concerned that he would be attempting to hibernate there for the next few months.

So I called the RSPCA to get a number for the wildlife care line. A nice lady there told me that bats (all or just these?) don’t hibernate and it probably hasn’t moved in the last day because the weather has been miserable. She suggested that I leave it be for now, but to call back if it looks like it’s in trouble or if it doesn’t move even when the weather clears.

Now my next task is to make sure that the cleaners who come through a couple times a week don’t try to sweep it away or pull it down… :/

I’ll have to ask my neighbour if I can put a post-it note next to the bat with a message to leave it alone…
