So, interesting things.
In the US, corn syrup is everywhere and in everything. This is why people I talk to make this big deal about how Coke in Australia tastes different (and better) than Coke in the US because we use real sugar in our soft drinks.
What I didn’t realise was that this means that soft drinks in the US are not kosher during Passover, because during Passover, Jews avoid most grains, and soft drinks in the US contain corn syrup which is made from grain/corn.
So that people can get their kosher soft drink fix during Passover, soft drink companies produce a limited edition line of drinks that contain real sugar. Or they buy that Mexican stuff.
